Carol. You mistake concern for “negativity”. It is only because people that live here have seen your situation many many many times before and it more frequently than it should does not end as happily for the buyer as it otherwise might.
Buying property in Spain can be a minefield with many pitfalls for the unwary and many more for those who have not only bought the place without physically visiting, but also do not know the area. Videos and pictures can be misleading - especially if your heart is set on a place, then all they will do is serve to melt your heart more!
This is NOT to say that every purchase made without physically visiting the property or knowing the area will end in tears - of course it won’t and I am certain you WILL have a wonderful time here - but don’t look upon the “negativity” you perceive here as trying to crush your dreams - it’s meant by people who have experience to throw a cold bucket of reality over the situation, so that you arrive with your eyes open.
As I said in my previous response - I am sure it will be fine, but my advice stands - get someone you trust not connected with the estate agents to physically visit the property, make a list of any small things that may need attention and if possible take photographs to send you.
