Devo you can access internet betting .For years I had a Paddy Power account but they closed it when I started living here four years ago.But changed my account to Bet365.It runs through my English bank. But will not allow me bets either when visiting Ireland or England.
Cheers folks , last year I tried logging into my Betfair account a few times over a week or so ,perhaps when the Guinness had taken hold and they shut my account . I had to phone Betfair when I got back to uk months later to re- open it as I had funds in it. Yes I was told about vpn but I am a bit nervous of using them with all the hype regarding scams and frauds . Bit like Mathew I’m not to clued up with such . Thank god for daughters . Alicia11 I could never see the point of banning bingo either . Lots of little bars ran a bingo afternoon to generate a bit of business and it was a social gathering for a chat for a lot of people . I thought it was just Mojacar’s lady mayor but maybe it’s not . The way they have to get around it is the customers have to buy a meal then they can play bingo . How on earth can that be policed . Once again Mathew two of the bars where you could get a bet on have stopped . One closed one just had enough of the hassle .

probably because the betting company are based in the UK as you can't enter the Omaze win a house either or enter the UK lottery unless already registered the terms and conditions usually state UK residents only. Strange for a country obsessed with different lottery and the Once scrat...

...ch cards gambling is not allowed in Spain like Bingo for instance a harmless game of fun to us Brits but the police can stop it if money is involved.
Oddly enough, you can however enter competitions with Omaze in the U.S. ..!

The Grand National is just over a week away. I think some of the contributors to this an the previous Cheltenham thread will have lots of interest. Please feel free to share your racing thoughts for Aintree.

TERRIBLE HORRIBLE CRUEL TO THE POOR OLD HORSES,IT SHOULD BE BANNED,Oooppss then we would have to slaughter all the horses that are bred for racing,
Not looked at the field yet but lets hope the loonytunes dont disrupt the racing,if they do it means that the police have failed big time as they have had plenty of notice of their intentions
I nearly had a seizure reading CJ's first paragraph above. But, I quickly noticed he was being his usual humorous self - nothing like good British humour and that;s from me a traditional Irishman.
I've run the Grand National several times over the past week in my head and to be honest the 2023 national is quite a more difficult race to call than previous years.
However, here are my selections more than a week in advance'
Corach Rambler (6/1) - Not good value, but represents Scotland and is probably the best UK hope.
Mr Incredible (14/1) - My main pick, but would like better odds and perhaps ew then.
Ain't that a Shame (25/1) - Depending on the ground, good value ew bet. I hope Rachael chooses.
Coko Beach (40/1) - Can't get this horse out of my head. An each way bet could pay dividends.
Fury Road (66/1) - I have ignored in the past, but my Irish mind is working overtime and ew seems good value.
1. Remember some bookies pay up to six places for ew betting so use your head.
2. Any bet under 10/1 in the Grand National represents poor value so again use your head.
I haven't looked at the other races yet, but I will. Again my mind is working overtime and it could be Rachael Blackmore again this year.
Mrs Matt has gone for The Shunter in the Grand National, so you know which horse to avoid now!!!!!!!!
Please, please please FUN BETS ONLY.
Aintree (Thursday) - My selections are as follows and Constitution Hill @ 1/8 is unbackable for me. Stage Star may have a short price too and doesn't represent good value to the fun invester.
1.45 Stage Star 13/8
2.20 Nusret 11/2*
2.55 A Plus Tard 7/2*
3.30 Constitution Hill 1/8
4.05 Dento Des Obeaux 25/1+ ew
4.40 Grey Diamond 6/1*
5.15 Rockstown Girl 25/1+* ew
* denotes my additional fun Yankee bet
Best of Luck to All and please enjoy the Aintree Festival. I'll check early morning price for Stage Star and if odds are greater than 2/1 I'll extend my Yankee to a Super Yankee.
