Hi everyone, we are moving to Los Gallardos!

As the moving date approaches my husband and I are in the process of booking a Ferry or Eurotunnel now and will be driving through France.

Because we have two cats we decided not flying. Unfortunately Brittany Ferties does not have a ferry with a csbin for pets in September. So, we will drive down thru France.

Has anyone ever done that? Any particular advice? We do know about the tolls. And know it is a long trip and will have to stay at least one night in a hotel .

Any ideas? Any suggestions?

Warnings?

There are prior threads on this forum dealing with this, if you search, with some detailed proposed routes etc and I think recommendations for places to stay.

I've never managed to book a 'pet friendly' cabin on Brittany Ferries either.  Even when we book months ahead.  Beginning to think this is a myth.  But we are coming down in 2 weeks, with doggo in the kennel cages.

I would say minimum 3 nights with pets.  My friends have done the same trip with cats and have always stayed in Ibis Budget hotels where there has been no problem.

Hiya!

Thanks for your message. Where do I find the tread? I’m not very good at finding things in the site...

I also felt there was something dodgy about that as I’ve tried different dates in future even next year and it always shows “sold out”. It is maybe a phishing thing.

Brilliant, thanks for that!

you wouldn’t happen to know if is better by Eurotunnel or Dover Calais (animals being involved)?

I assume then all Ibis hotels are cat friendly?

When we used the Santander ferrie we used to phone there booking office at Portsmouth speak to a person and they will give the dates of pet friendly cabins that are available.

Hi

We use Santander / Bilbao ferry, Usually kennel on Pont Aven boat. Still stay overnight north of Madrid, as not in a rush, and boat timings usually dictate

Thanks James

Do you use pet friendly cabin? They say they don’t have one in September when we go so I don’t know what to do with my cats if we use Brittany Ferries?
