I'm with Jennie on this, I just don't watch such programs, It's bad enough to see certain types, in real life!
Exactly, I sometimes go into town and feel ashamed to be British.

I hear Nerja is/has been the latest area for such a television series. Let's cut to the chase here and assume that Costa Almería is on the short list for a future series. I have no problem with good humour but this television series doesn't do any favour to Brits anywhere.
I'm Irish and I won't be contacted by the producers - I'd boast that I'm somewhere ahead of the brain-power of those participating to date. But, there are quite a few prospective contributors to this forum that I fear would have no problem in appearing (just my opinion) and making themselves and ...

I reckon some of the better posters on this forum will agree with me, but there's always the few who'll accept the few bob and think Hollywood will snap them up at some future date.
Please do us all a favour (even us Irish) and don't make a show of yourself or your friends and family.
MAKEUP !!!!!!!
nah only joking

Ah! Jenni, sometimes feeling ashamed to be British? You've done nothing to tarnish the image of Brits (Well, other than try to have the Aintree Grand National scrapped forever).
You have had some good television experience improving the image of Portugal for would-be foreign property buyers and with your husband's insight and film making experience you have had a head start. You could yet make a come back as a Bond Girl. Oria could be back on the map shortly.
ive seen a liitte of the benidom episodes ..dont know how they get away with it they're obviously dont have residency .

Lovely post Jenni, but as dynamic as a hand-brake in a canoe. When you press that button the only person for which that programme disappears is you - many thousands of viewers will continue to see the programme now and for years to come.
That's their choice. If they don't like it, they turn it off too. I think that's how TV viewing works and partly how ratings are established. Very "dynamic" really.

now there is Bargain Loving Brits by the sea (in the UK) so they are not just here in Benidorm. At least they are enjoying their lives wherever they are living.

If I apply will it give me a chance to dress in drag and sing because that seems to be the main criteria for getting on the show.
I always thought I'd look good in a pink flamenco dress

I could not agree more, how dare these pesky Brits spend there well earned on setting up businesses, supporting the local community and paying their taxes. As for those dreadful Brits who set up and run animal sanctuaries, well you could not find a lower life form if you were to search all week. Hardly surprised that so many are ashamed to call themselves British. As for those dammed fund raising events, what’s all that about? Let’s be honest, who would want to be associated with such hard working, caring people? Far far worse than the Irish Travellers I’m sure.

Just how in gods name can you set up a business and or an animal sanctuary if you are not resident. Why if you are not involved in your local community would you run a fund raising night in your own bar?
