Thanks for that. Really useful. I do have a very nice car as it happens. Jaguar XE 2016. I'm used to driving left asnd right hand cars in Europe so I don't mind either way. I've looked into health insurance and the cheapest so far is 250 a month.

you need to cost in your headlights unless they are the type that can be adjusted (not beam deflectors)it could cost you about 1700euros to matriculate. I'm not certain but for health cover I believe you have to pay for a full year not monthly to start with.

Hello again! That sounds like quite a high premium for your health insurance, unless you have pre existing conditions which are bumping it up. Do you belong to FB there is a group called brexpats in spain which has lots of good information, and has negotiated some decent health policies for membe...

...rs, might be worth a look.

My husband and I are coming over to Spain next week for 7 months; hoping to look for somewhere for a permanent move. A friend told us 150 for couples medical insurance! Is this wrong?

Hello Lin, not sure quite why you’ve quoted me in your post! I simply said to the original poster that his quote seemed high and he should perhaps shop around

Anyways, your premiums will depend on your ages and health conditions, best advice is to get some quotes or ask for broker recommendations in the area you plan to move to. I’m in the research phase myself so not in a position to offer more advice than that, sorry

No worries whatsoever!!

Do you belong to FB, if so I’d joining the Mojacar Group forum and asking for recommendations on there.

You could also search this forum for previous threads, or go brave and start one of your very own asking for recommendations. On the home page there is a button for start a new thread, give it a go, no one will see it until you press go and successfully post it! People on here are generally only too happy to help

I would be very wary of mobile homes down here. I know someone who bought one and was ripped off badly by the site owner and it cost these guy thousands of euros lost. There are many unscrupulous rogues down here,I have been caught out badly too with thieves all too common around ready to con the unwary Brit who they consider an easy touch....🙁

Hi Paul, I have just moved here and in the process of doing my residency. I got Health insurance for £72 per month with the insurance centre who also did my car insurance.

For residency you have to pay up front for 1 years health insurance, then you could pay monthly! Hope this helps!

Thanks for this. I t may be that you are a bit younger then myself but this is a far better price than I've been quoted. Are you able to tell me who that is with?

Paul

Hi what about savings and money going into your account been told it will go up every year . We were going to retire no work so obviously our saving wouldn't be going up all the time
