Once you have your residency, it doesn’t matter how much you have, they don’t check! Initially you have to have an income if £8k per year and £6k savings!

I spoke to a guy yesterday from tiecardspain.com. They'll apply for your TIE card and residency. For a fee of course. For residency he say's you need to show 7000 euros in a bank account, a year's health insurance which will be somewhere between £750 and £1000 and have a fixed address.
He made it sound oh so easy and when I mentioned that all the forums make out that it's complicated he said to ignore the forums as they're full of misinformation. He says some places won't rent without the tie card so I'm going to fill the form in and along with other information, they'll make an appointment at the police station and I'll get my TIE. I'm going over to Alicante in September so the appointment will be for then. With my TIE I'm hoping to secure accommodation for my return in late October. The website also has some contacts for health insurance. I asked if the year upfront was because people cancel once they get their residency and he said yes and that soem people were canceling the following day.
