I quite agree. People wandering about as if it's over. I've not been out for 8 weeks and got another 4 to go as I'm 71 have diabetes and asthmatic. I'm really scared to go out. Yet my neighbour has her boyfriend over to stay she goes to his to stay and in the week she had friends over for drinks....

... I don't understand what people don't understand about stay at home.

I know exactly how you feel. Whilst we are desperate to get to our forever home in Spain. We are hanging on a bit longer to book our flights (September) as we’ve had one cancelled which was booked in February. But on the road we live and there are only 12 properties. Out of those 5 of them have just carried on as usual, outings, visitors, drinks parties etc etc. With morons like this what hopes do we have, we have followed every rule/suggestion to keep safe. Poor hubby hasn’t been out of the house for 10 weeks apart from the garden. Had a visit last week from our daughter and granddaughter, stayed outside 2 metres apart. First visitor since this began.

Happy and satisfied, but in no hurry to repeat.

I wish you good health and safety. Mags xxxx

Can you hire a car from Birmingham airport? Can a member of your family come and collect you? You sit in the back, wear masks.gloves, hand sanitizer etc.

I have no family members near by, but could hire a car, but at a cost. I do not agree with this quarantine rule, it has no scientific basis and is too late, all it will succeed in doing, is destroying the travel industry and cost thousands of people there jobs. My wife and I spent 6 weeks in quarantine in Spain, only leaving the house to collect food, we not be returning to the UK, to spend another two weeks, in isolation...

This quarantine does seem crazy when people in the UK have not been in the stricter lockdown situation that we've had here in Spain.  They still have more cases of the virus, deaths etc, too.

I was skyping a friend in Scotland who is in lockdown with her son and she was saying that an old friend of her son travelled up from London the other week to visit!  He didn't stay with them apparently but he had meals at their house. Also in the large village where my relatives live in East Lothian, many of the senior citizens who live alone go visiting within the village, coffee mornings, etc.  They don't shop for themselves when they're in the risk group, but many certainly aren't short of visits during the day!   I think the older Spanish people here are very careful generally about their health.
