I understand your concern but I'm afraid my movement will have little effect on the spread of this virus particularly if tests prove negative. A total border closure world wide is the only thing that will do that along with good Virus inoculation program which is going really well here in the UK ...

...of which hopefully I'll have had mine (ours) by the end of February. Thanks for thoughts though.

A total boarder closure world wide is what it is going to take, to stop this, also you might test negative in the UK, travel to Spain, or anywhere else and 48 hrs later prove positive, thus you have spread the virus.

Johnson himself has said that ‘only one infection case in a thousand in the U.K. has originated from someone travelling into the country’. It has not stopped him quarantining at local hotels passengers from flights that have originated in countries where a new variant has originated. All other travellers have to complete a negative Covid test before arrival and then quarantine in a single place in the U.K. for ten days.

Thank you for your reply, I have been told the clinic will not guarantee the result in 24 hours they say it is 24 - 48 hours.   To be within the 72 hours we would need the test before 8am on the Wednesday, collect the results on the Thursday which is dated the day they took the test (We...

...dnesday) it is impossible to do it if a clinic does not produce the results within 24 hours and are not open before 8am, I feel as though I am being a bit illiterate sorry

Hi, the test needs to be done in no MORE than 72 hours. So you need to take it after 8am on Wednesday so you are in within 72 hours before arrival.

Hi, if the journey takes 34 hours  wouldn't  it arrive on Saturday at 8 am?  Get the test on Wednesday and see if you get the results before you leave on thursday. If not get them to send you the results to your email on Friday?

Wednesday 8am- Saturday8am =72 hours. So if you get a test after 8 on Wednesday you will be in 72 hour frame rate...

...

Hi there, on a similar note. Is it 72 hours before you arrive physically in the port of Bilbao/Santander? As in the Spanish border? I am assuming that once you physically arrive on Spanish soil that is where the 72 hours is important and that it doesn’t matter then how long it takes for you to drive down to your destination/home?

If you arriving for example on Friday in Spain you will need to have the test done Tuesday,Wednesday or Thursday.  yes it's when you arrive at the border.
