...and opened accounts with the electric, water, Companies and with the Town Hall for taxes and bills etc. I gave her power of attorney and everything went through very efficiently and smoothly. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

...ld her we wanted Cajamar as they had far more branches near our house

 in the Cabo de Gata  natural park, and at that stage they didn’t charge much in the way of fees.  She swore blind that this was not possible as there were no branches of Cajamar in Mojacar.  When we got there we discovered there was a branch of Cajamar right next to the bank she had chosen!  I suspect she was getting commission from the bank for client introductions and the rules applying to lawyers in Spain tend to be far more flexible on this than in the U.K.

We were eventually able to change bank accounts after quite a bit of hassle, but the moral of this story is decide which bank you want and then insist the lawyer uses that!
