Not sure other than I read it was the best kept secret in Spain, great climate, people and lifestyle. I sort of thought why not as I’m looking for a change.

Anne, Mojacar Playa, Mojacar Pueblo, Vera, Vera Playa, Garrucha, Los Gallardos, Turré, Carboneras are all good places in which to live. There are other good places too and I recommend you rent for a few weeks in the off season and you will find out if that area is for you. It could probably be the best few bob you ever spent.

The Pueblo is inundated with cats. Some people love them; I don't hate them, I just can't understand why the lovers and feeders of such felines can't clean up after them. The feral cat lovers can't understand that cat poo can be dangerous to anybody who comes into contact causing infection.

Thank you I think renting is good advice. Really sorry to hear the pueblo has so many cats but funnily enough I suspected it might be. Those little narrow streets are perfect for them creeping around.

Where are you?

At this moment, I'm sitting in my home in south east Ireland looking out into the Atlantic and feeling the rain and wind in my face wishing I were in Mojacar Playa.

You description of east Ireland sounds atmospheric. My mum is from S Ireland she was 95 last month. ‘Tough the Irish we’ve had to be’ her words not mine.

Might be a while till you are able to travel safely to Mojacar. AM

Ian77, I don't agree with too much of what you say on the forum, but I'm with you on the feral cats issue. I don't know if you're "with me."

It’s fine I do not worry to much about people agreeing with me , it’s good to have different opinions .. but glad you agree about the cats

I have never come across such vitriol on this forum before.  If people had their cats neutered there would not be so many but too many people prefer to slag off the volunteers who work hard to look after the stray cats and dogs in the area.  You people disgust me.  Stray animals are a norm in all Mediterranean countries and will continue to be so until people do more to help get them neutered.  The most compassionate are the British but from the comments on this forum it seems a new breed of people are coming.  If you have a phobia stay in the UK unless you are willing to help the PAWS and other animal charities in the area.
