Hi we returned to the UK and had to book day 2&8 test before we could complete our passenger locator form costing £308 (rip off) the day 5 release is extra so we chose to isolate for the 10 days as it was an extra £79 each (disgusting) .

We both had separate calls everyday and we had to wait until the 11th day as we found out you can only finish isolation once you have the positive day 8 test back.

I know this may sound negative but it's reality and it's a joke, we are living with our daughter and grand children when back in the uk and they could carry on as normal, so to me it's just the government justing trying any way they can to get money back.

Good luck with your trip and wedding hope I haven't put a downer on it.

My daughter flew home to uk we ordered the test and paid for them for day  2 and day 8 but they didnt turn up till  day 5 but you need the code to go on your QR to get on the plane x

Yes I am aware of this but once again I say it does not make sense to have a day 5 early release....go out into the community .....then have to have a day 8 test when for 3 days you have been wandering around!

We understand all of this.....it is just that it does not make sense if you have had a day 5.....been out seeing people....then have to do a day 8......madness!

Thank you James..... someone has finally understood what I originally said....wth a day 5 early release I could be back out in the community....yet I still have to do a day 8....What if that is positive? Bit like shutting the stable door once the horse has bolted......

Don't think living with daughter and gran daughter is quite adhering to quarantine. If your living with someone they should observe quarantine as well

James

Ps were free,  received negative day 8 results last night 23.30

The government legislation is that they don't have too that's why the whole thing is a joke, I totally agree they should all have to isolate .

Doesn't make sense

Don't think you read the correct page. Clearly states avoid contact with the family u are staying with. Don't confuse with gov advice on isolation for families
