I have heard through a friend of mine who lives in Spain that if you're moving there & retire out after the proposed Brexit date you will not be entitled to your UK pension at retirement age. Has anyone heard about this?
Don’t want to be rude, but tell your friend that they are talking b—-ocks. (Assuming you are talking about your state pension) It is YOUR pension and you will receive it wherever you are, plus you will also get the yearly increases. Hope this helps.

hi
What I understand is that those who are already in Spain with Residencia will get their pension with the appropriate annual increases as they always have done.
However after 31/12.2020 that may change. So if you gain Residencia AFTER 31/12/2020 your pension will be paid but there has been no indication that annual increases will apply - by the same measure they have not said they will not.
https://www.gov.uk/state-pension-if-you-retire-abroadTime will tell but this is worth reading - with all the internal links. Not much help I know.regards

No one knows what will happen after we eventually leave in Dec 2020, the pensions are being talked about as I speak there will be changes imo .. and because of this Covid virus every county will be looking at ways of not spending or giving much away ... nobody knows yet we all have to wait and see especially if it ends in a no deal ...

On that note, I came by information today that indicates Spain is no longer giving out Residencia appointments for British migrants, nor are they issuing the green card anymore or converting Existing green cards to “Permanente”
As from July, British migrants will be receiving the TIE card (biometric plastic Photo ID card) that will explicitly detail cover under WA, but it will still be on the “old” Residencia requirements. Anyone who arrives before 31/12 will be the beneficiary of this.
Spain has indicated that those who already possess the green Residencia card do NOT need to swap for a TIE, but as they are no longer marking green cards “permanente” at 5 year point, it’s a bit of a guess at this stage what they will do .... swap green card for TIE? This will almost certainly open itself to bureaucratic confusion ....
and again today, Michael Barnier has indicated that EU and UK must prepare to become “two separate entities” and that there “will be no back door into a common market in the event of no deal”. Couple that with UK governments points-based migration system and it is clear to see that there will be NO “special arrangements” for British nationals seeking to settle in Europe.
All those of you have or will have Residencia pre-end transition ... be very VERY grateful.

The post you referenced was from 2nd July; TIE were to be issued as from 6th July and at the point I posted, appointments had been stopped.
Since then, though, appointments are definitely available, and in Almería at least (and I’m certain in other regions) different offices deal with first time applicants and those wishing to swap Green Residencia cards.
This means that there are now plentiful appointments for those wishing to swap green card, even though the advice is still that it’s not necessary.
I’m guessing many may wish to swap because despite the advice that the green card is valid and will remain so, anecdotal evidence suggests there remains some confusion with funcionarios, with some believing incorrectly that the green card becomes “invalid” as of 31/12. It’ll just be easier to swap to TIE and then there is no issue.

In fact the annual April uprating to UK state pensions will not be paid for anyone becoming resident after 31 December. The state pension itself would be paid every four weeks.

Actually we do. The 2019 Withdrawal Agreement covered pension and health arrangements. As long as you are here and apply for residency by 31 December nothing will change.
We do not have to 'wait and see'. All this is explained here:
