Hi,

I wonder if anyone is or have been on a similar situation to us. I am Spanish national who has been living in the Uk for 18 years, married to a British national and now that  He is retired We are moving to Spain permanently.

The info regards this move is a mind field as it seems we get told many different versions of what my husband requires for the move.

I know He requires NIE/TIE card but as he is married to me, He does not need a visa, doesn't he? neither prove of monthly income, right?

Please help, He is getting frustrating and I am afraid that He will end up backing up from the decision to relocate

Gracias!.

My understanding is that he will come in as dependent / family member of an EU resident (you);  I BELIEVE for that it will be under the "residencia" rules applicable to EU nationals, in that he will require a Padrón, and proof of availability of 9.050 € (not per year - just a one-time thing)

You can go to TGSS and sign as attesting that your husband will fall under your health cover (as a national, you should be automatically entitled to health cover)  I know this for a fact because when we arrived, my wife started working before I did, and my required health cover for residencia was obtained as being her spouse.  This was done by the TGSS office in Huércal-Overa.

He won't need a visa, and on arrival, once you make the application for residencia as a family member, it "stops the clock" on the 90 days maximum stay

Hi Dario,

Can't thank you enough for getting back to me as your response confirms what I had in mind.

My husband spoke to a "Professionall" who filled his head with a lot of negative ideas and bulls##t which made him think that was impossible for us to make the move, so thanks again!
