Advice on hiking in Cabo de Gata
As a frequent visitor to Vera Playa and naturist, I heard that Cabo de Gata offers opportunities for hiking. However, I would prefer to hike in a group, rather than alone. Does anyone have experience in such trips?

I’ve never hiked in Cabo de Gata, mainly from fear of a sudden rise of temperature, possibility of no cooling wind, or no wind at all giving a feel of higher temperatures. That’s before the possibility of sand storms, running out of drinkable water and the possibility of getting lost and of course the possibility of the many kinds of injury.
I can nearly hear you saying Ol’ Matt is dithering or doteing. You may be right! But hiking in Cabo de Gata is not for the inexperienced hiker. But, with a month’s experience with a local walking group your stamina would be built up and you would make good connections and perhaps like minded people willing to take on Cabo de Gata. Please observe all safety precautions.
