To be fair, in the last three weeks as holiday  visitors we had to look very hard to find a restaurant open for lunch overlooking the beaches of San Juan, Mojacca or Vera Playa, most are closed but not noted as closed on line.  All but one of the bars and restaurants in Huercal Overa we...

... tried were open because they are used by locals.

We live in this area.  Plenty open everywhere.  We fly to Birmingham from Alicante all year and Almeria April to Oct.

I had to smile at your remark about only restaurants you found open were because of the locals!  Especially Huercal Overa!.  Usually holidaymakers aim for the coast.  I can assure you on Vera Playa there are at least 4.open in the Pueblo Laguna. Area.  2 are British, ( i am down there eating at least once and sometimes twice per week).  I am talking about the daytime.  Some do close early  in the evenings.  There is a big place which is multicultural  and an Italian restaurant also.  There is an Indian one a bit further down who open mainly at night.  And where i live we have an Argentinian steak house and a Chinese restaurant.  I cant comment about Mojacar as i very seldom go there but from the local papers advertising their wares i think there are alot ready to serve you.

We are buying in Alboleas area. No flights to Murcia or Almeria How do most residents get to and from airport (alicante). I presume taxi is expensive over that distance but there does not seem to be bus or train

 Hi there

There is a coach service www.exclusiveairportshuttles.co.uk

Google them they have most airports covered, recently they've added a drop to Hostal Mesón in Arboleas, this service is very reasonably priced. My family use it regularly as we live in Arboleas.

Hi, if you want busy, nightlife, bustling streets, Los Cerricos is not for you. We live in Arroyo Medina which is not far from you.

We love where we live and use Murcia International airport most of the time. Alicante will offer more flights and possibly a little cheaper but not so convenient.

Good luck!!

I don’t want busy streets or nightlife quite the opposite in fact . We like a quiet life . But having access to flights all year from our local airport .
