We also used Fred Philips, first class professional service, every item is placed on an inventory and given a unique item number so nothing goes missing. Established fully insured family run business. Cost wise about £100 per cubic meter. We had a large 4 bed house with a double garage which equated to about 25 cubic meters. The secret is to pack everything as tight as you can to keep the cost down.

Good luck with your move.

Hi john99andrew, that is a bit more helpful but as I have no idea how many cubic metres I will be moving it still leaves me in the dark. All I want is a couple of people to tell me what it actually cost them to move. It's not rocket science. If someone tells me it cost them €2.000 to move a two...

... bed house and another tells me it cost €5.000 to move a four bed house I would have a clue as to what it would cost me. I am sorry if I am going on a bit but I just want a figure not a cubic metre rate or anything else just a number!

I had several conversations with removal companies and they all asked for the amount in cubic meteres to be transported , coupled with an approximate weight too. So when we put stuff instorage we made sure it was packed in boxes with an average of 22kilo per box and the cubic is easy , 1mt x 1mt =1m2 (square metre)

And 1mt x 1mt x 1mt is cubic i.e. 1m3 (cubic metre)

Hope this help anyone confused by measures etc .

I can understand your frustration but you really will need to get some quotes. We did have some ridiculously high quotes for a pretty small load (up to £3k). Ended up getting excellent service from a company called Moovit based in Arboleas. They used a Mercedes Sprinter for the entire load (we didn’t bring any white goods or TV) and it cost just under £1300. They also offer storage if needed. Good luck!

Hi

I think for two containers we were quoted £1850. Each container holds 7 cu metres or 259 cu ft. Location Location are based at Antas and also have a depot at March, Cambs in the Uk.

I emailed a list of items and Katrina was able to quote on that. They need to know roughly how many boxes so I thought around 40 but ended with nearly 60. It’s amazing when you come to pack how many boxes you need. We were fortunate to have boxes otherwise I think boxes and packing is in addition. I then kept finding things and she was very flexible; she put by 3 containers for us and if we only needed 2 then that’s what we would have paid however we did needed the third container, I think we paid £2500-2750. I would suggest emailing her and she will be able to give you a quote as to some idea of cost.

We  contacted Fred Phillips initially but I think they wanted £1500 per container and needed to come to property to assess.

Matthew James also came out and were excellent and quoted £2500 including supplying boxes and white wrapping paper. I don’t have their quote anymore so I can’t tell you what capacity that covered.

I would suggest getting phoning or emailing the above companies with uour requirements and they should be able to give you some idea.

Hope that helps

Hi Pamela.

I found your post very informative, thank you. My husband John & I have just bought a property in Mojacar Playa. Although we will not be moving lock stock & barrel for a year possibly 18 months, the information you gave has given us an insight into a rough costing when we do make the move.

Again thank you.

Hi everyone.

I'm just going to put this question out there, in the hope that someone can give me a rough idea. It is early evening here in UK now so cannot phone any of the removal companies recommended on here.

How long roughly did/does it take to have items shipped to Mojacar Almeria from London UK ? We have today received our completion date and wanted to ship out some items prior to arriving ourselves. It is not heavy items of furniture, possibly 6 boxes of essentials to kick start us off.

Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you

If your asking how long do they take to get to u ,

Then depending on drops I suppose it could be around 6 days , bearing in mind ferries, tachograph etc

But this is on the assumption that your booked on a date of travel , in other words you gotta find a company that is good price, got space and can accommodate dates you want.

Brilliant Kdskitchens, that info is really helpful thank you. At least I have a rough idea now. Hopefully I will be able to arrange the timings just right.

Thank you again.
