Well everyone it is time to think on now…

So much for Spain      Now I have to sell my lovely villa which I bought for my retirement

I have been in Spain since 2017 with Resendency and Spanish plated car.  Now I have to think about selling up due to the License Exchange (I could wait because the Spanish are having to come up with a plan with the DVLA). There are 1000’s of English people just sitting and waiting.  There are also a lot of people driving and dodging the police. With all the rules and regulations in Spain now.it is not a nice place to be. Cypress is nice and NO AGRO.

Was there a reason you didn't change your license before the deadline?

Well yes.   I went to get my Resendency in middle of December 2020 the card did not arrive till January 2021 so I was unable to go forward with the Driving License. Plus I had to come back to England at Xmas 2020

as I son in England was very Unwell and I needed to be there.  This I think is where it is not fair.

Quote.

There are 1000’s of English people just sitting and waiting.

Why? If you make that choice, you live with the consequences

I understand most expat Brits in Spain voted for Brexit.

A smaller majority of Brits in the UK voted for Brexit.

Even the Irish population of the UK (to my embarrassment) voted for Brexit.

. . . . and the sheer power of domiciled Brits in Spain was of course ensuring us no changes after Brexit would be made. Even on this forum they claimed this was Democracy in action and the EU would cave into "entitled" demands of Brits. But nobody told the Spaniards.

Man up to your situation and  do your driving test, unless, of course, you feel you are not a fit driver.

Trust me I know

Do a Spanish Driving Test and likely you won't need to do that enlightening conversation.

I’m just wondering why you didn’t just swap your license while you could, so easily.

Well done Mathew. So, they lived here since 2017 with Residencia !    I loved the bit about moaning about Others living “Under the Radar” LOL.    . This is exactly the type of quote that made my Blood Boil, the Holier than Thou attitude, it was always judgemental and accuseational  , is that a word lol?    I argued with Everyone about it haha.  but, to be able to call them out is Classic.  Again Very Well Done.

There are 407.000 persons with British nationality living in spain, according to the spanish foreign depth. There are 287000 on the padron. The 120.000 in between are unable to get their licence, but in general they don't contribute to their community either.

There are 6 mill foreigners (NOT expats, IMMIGRANTS) living in spain. Maybe it is time for British immigrants to understand that there are no exceptions to the laws of the land, wherever we come from and that we are just a minority?

Lowie, an electric bike or trike will do you a world of good, the exercise will also improve your mood.

What a thread! I hope Lowie doesn't take out a contract on me. If he does, he'll have to get back in the queue.

. . . and I'm only trying to get a few future votes for Ireland rom the UK in Eurovision - Irlande Douze Points.
