Thanks. Will do.

Not too sure when we're actually gonna move. We had it all carefully planned for November 2020, when my better half gets her pension. However, 2 days before we went to Estepona for a holiday, she got made redundant. Anything can happen now. 😱

I hope things get sorted for you. Its been our dream to retire here for 20 years. I am sure your wife will get another job. Hopefully. to bring you back on track.

It works much better if we stay on plan.

1) we still have mortgage left to pay, which clears, well, guess when?

2) I'm eligible for state pension, but have defered drawing it. Hence HM Gov is a big piggy bank for me, and on plan, another 16 months worth of dosh goes into the pot.

3) Lastly, between retirement in November and moving in the new year of 2021, flying to San Francisco and cruising to all the Hawaiian islands was also part of the plot.

Still, I'm flexible sort of bloke. 😅

Firstly like to say, good luck with your move. Oh and I have just moved out here full time after finding a long term rental back in October, we put our house up for sale December 2018, finally sold up lock, stock and barrel may 2019. We have come out a few times in between but feels totally different now we're here permanently. Like yourselves getting as much advice as possible. We're not sure if we will continue to rent or look at purchasing. We went to seek some legal advice last week who told us to wait until after brexit as this could mean changing paperwork at more cost. We are using our rental as a good base for looking around the area before finally put our roots down.

Oh dear. The dreaded B word.

I have a huge problem with making any decision which MIGHT, or MIGHT NOT be influenced by Brexit. Please dont think I'm bring dismissive, but here's my thinking. The vote to leave the EU took place just over 3 years ago. The obvious fallout is no decision has yet been made and a democratic process is having two fingers waved at it.

Why has nothing been decided after 3 long years?

You might start by looking at the fact that 15 ministers of state have resigned in that time, not to mention 2 prime ministers. It's almost certain that only 20% of our elected MPs feel the need to abide by a vote.

That equates to the remaining 80% against. Put more simply, less than 400 people have it in their astonishingly arrogant minds that they can actually dictate a decision which affects 60,000,000 people.

All of that said, am I going to put my life on hold while a few morally corrupt wind bags do their thing? Am I hell.

OK, rant over and my thanks to you for taking the time to reply. Best wishes. Lee
