Hello to you...   Just to tell you what I have just done. I had a Range Rover but to put in through the (IVA—MOT) was going to cost a lot of money €700.00.  If your car comes with extras they must be ALL factory fitted

(As it came off the line)

So your car make goes on the testers screen from manufacture guide. You must change the Headlights/Rear Fog Light and Reversing Light to comply. Tyre rating must be the correct for the car (That is the last Letter & Number on the tyre reading) X4

Tow bars. Fitted In England are NOT excepted in Spain. They must be fitted in Spain and has a Towing Tag with rating.
So you can come to Spain in your car a Tourist for 180days then you have to return. Make sure you have ALL your paperwork with you ALL times.
I came back to England with my car SOLD IT. now I bought a Peugeot 308cc.

Now it is only going to cost me €300

Do yourself a favour and Go to CATS

Services they will help you with everything.
Hope this helps you.   Terry

The best way to go with car is Brittany Ferries to Santander or Bilbao   Driving down to Albox is about 700km   Who wants to drive across the Channel into France all the way down through the Pyrenees then all the way along the coast road AP7 (Forget It)

...now it will cost a Bob or two  to change the paperwork, but still cheaper than buying another car I think.your thoughts please.

You will find that an open car here is not much use- to hot! You will fry remember for 3 months the sun will be out & the temp in the high 30’s. What you need is a saloon with good air con.

you have to change the headlights as well so add in that cost.  it will also have to pass ITV with emissions might be a problem with a 15 year old car.  The Spanish government are also trying to get cars older than 10 years off the road.   There are some very reasonable second hand...

... cars for sale here much easier to sell your car in UK and buy here.  If you can afford a new one there will also be some good deals post corvid 19 because the garages will be desperate for sales.

I purchased 2 brand new cars here in Spain 15 yrs ago, each is as new, low mileage and still smell of leather, the ITV test centre is the same test for every car regardless of age,mai was talking with ap Spanish guy when he just had his 40 yr old car ITV certain done, no problems at all with their system, they don't try to sell you anything or do any work on the vehicle unlike garages in thecUK.

The rules are the same for everyone, and don't forget, it costs you a fee to have it tested if something is wrong then you can go to a garage and get it fixed ,my ou don't pay twice, so don't get caught by having pre ITV work done and paying for something that the ITV centre might think is ok.

Have you thought of buying  a LHD model in the UK (slightly cheaper) and taking that with you,you would still need lamps etc but at least then you have a car more useable, little things like joining junctions/motorways etc are harder in a rhd

Hi Bob

Or you could consider buying our white Peugeot 308 convertible, available at the end of June and not have to bother with matriculation etc, which can be expensive. Much more straightforward. Just a thought.
