Hi

We always use RecordGo and they are very good with no hidden extras and very prompt at returning the fuel fee and deposit they take. It’s worth taking out an excess insurance policy, which is usually around £25, in the UK to cover the hire period and this will avoid having to pay the huge exce...

Thank you all so much for the advice I will research some more.

Its interesting to read others personal/second hand experiences regarding Goldcar. We have been using them from Murcia San Javier for the past 20 months on a regular basis and have had no complaints or hard sells. We have purchased CDW Insurance in the UK and leave a deposit on my Credit Card which has always been refunded upon return, less cost of fuel used. Yes, I accept that fuel cost per litre is higher than pump price but that is better than having to find a petrol station near to San Javier and having to leave our house earlier to do so.

There's a petrol station very close to San Javier in Santiago de la Ribera, 3 minutes from the airport. We use it every time we take a car back to Centauro. Mind you, Corvera will open in January so it's not really a long-term issue - we'll have a whole other set of problems no doubt :)
