he is making it quite clear that he is only interested in England and his use of the word UK is meaningless and he is dividing the country into 4

Instead of just ranting and insulting why dont you post FACTS,but I suppose inane drivel and spittle flecked hatred is more your style

light blue touch paper and move to a safe distance

Well, I think you are in the minority on this site Leon. And just to put matters straight, my post related to the man himself. The way he has handled Covid 19 is a matter for another day but it seems that he lies or changes his mind almost every day. eg, masks are not a requirement, but now masks...

... are a requirement but not for 2 weeks.  Or, Dominic did break the rules but not really. you couldn’t make this stuff up.

Imay well be in the minority on here probably because I was a leaver and we won but some people can never accept the fact.

Its time to move on, and I have no problem with people voicing opinions just lets not make it personal hey

just to touch on the mad BJ who is wrecking ever ones lives from the UK ,

the 14 day lock down is returning  from Spain is crazy

with 48 hours notice a total and utter idiot and arse

yet 2 weeks notice for the face masks which was 2 weeks behind every one else when will some one oust this cluless arse

I have tried to keep out of this debate.

But I fear that no one sees the wider picture here. Its all very well bleeting about Mr Johnson but I hear no one coming up with any suitable alternative. It irks me that people criticise for their own self satisfaction without knowing or considering the full facts of what is going on.

I'm almost certain nobody in this forum would want his job right now. That fact alone deserves him at least a little respect. And if anyone of you did, I doubt very much that you would make a better job of a very difficult situation. '9 year olds and sweetie shops' is nothing short of pathetic.

There is a lot of negotiation still going on before UK finally leaves EU. Trade. One of the biggest issues is Fisheries and guess who that involves on a large scale. The talks, I'm told, are stalled. What better way to inflict pain where it most hurts by calling a 'travel' ban. You might not think it be justified but there again it might just be in the broader picture.

Call me cynical if you want but this is big money for a very long time that we're talking about here. Every side will use what ever tactics are available to them.

Mr Johnson, personally, has been through more than almost everyone else. He came back to work. Most others would have given up.

I will put on record that I am not his greatest supporter but, frankly, I can't think of anyone else in the current Parliament that would have done a better job.

The country voted Tory. The Tories voted Johnson. That is Democracy. If you don't like it there are things you can do.

You may have “won” as you call it but it was a “pyrrhic” victory. I hope brexiteers are proud of the fact that they have cost thousands of ex pats living in Europe €200 out of every £1000. (20%). Irrespective of Covid. This includes your friends, your neighborbut more importantly pensioners that have worked all their lives in order to lose 20% of their pension payments. On top of all this not one brexiteer can give one ‘positive’ from the last 4 years.

I’m still not certain what it is Vote Leave actually “won” ... a non binding referendum built on deception and outright lies? Good win ... hmmmm

Never mind. That’s a different subject really and one that will rage for many years more, no matter how much Vote Leave want it to stop.  It’ll still be happening when the inevitable #BrejoinEU happens in ... a decade? less? Well, when a economically ravaged and quite insignificant Britain comes back cap in hand to Brussels.

But BoZo ... the man is a narcissistic buffoon, and an inveterate liar and I suggest this last trait is what has raised the ire of many - his seeming inability to tell the truth. About anything.

Truenudist, you rightly asked “who instead?” Well for me the clear winner there is Sir Keir Starmer, a man who looks and acts - and is perceived as - if polls are anything to go by - more Prime Ministerial than the Prime Minister!! But not yet.  No, the leadership of the UK is right now a poison chalice and I’d be surprised if anyone other than the unelected bureaucrat that actually runs the country Demonic Scummings and his pet clown BoZo actually want it.

Sadly, the country is going to have to continue sliding downhill into the smoking economic wasteland that will follow before people sit up and take notice and say “right.  Ok, we need a REAL prime minister this time.  Not a one-trick pony who’s only ability is delivering meaningless and trite three word slogans”

In another 4 years, it’ll be interesting to see what happens.  I’ll wager though it won’t be the Brexiteers dream of a Strong, United Kingdom, keeping all the nasty foreigners out and once again riding high on the glory of its proud history .... it’ll be United only in name as England and Wales, Scotland having gained independence and Ireland reunified; the economy won’t quite be in the toilet, but it won’t have all the glorious trade deals you were promised.  You’ll be an economically ravaged and quite insignificant satellite of the EU with none of the benefits. (46% of UK trade is with the EU - a mere 15% is with the USA and a trade deal with them has been ruled out this year)

And you really can thank BoZo the prime clown for that.  Apparently he’d like to be a devotee of Onan but lacks requisite co-ordination .....

Before Brexit.  £ vs € =1.35. €1350 for every £1000

Today approx  £ vs € =1.09. €1090 for every £1000

A difference of €260 for ever £1000

Approx 20%

These are ‘facts’ as a result of Brexit.

What was it you 'won'? Your country stopped its own citizens retaining free movement in Europe. Was that a 'win'?

Doris,

While your numbers are correct the use of the word 'lose' is slightly disingenuous.

10 years ago the £ / € rate was 1.1. Today as you say it is 1.09.

I would suggest that 1.1 is probably a reflection of true values. In which case the peak at 1.4 could be viewed as a gain not a loss.
