A popular misconception of the inhabitants of Palomares lol. Yes it happened, yes there was/is a small patch of land that was/is contaminated, I say was/is because the Spanish government is still to this day claiming millions of dollars from the USA in fees for the inconvenience lol. The USA has paid for everyone in the village in 1966 to have a free medical examination that includes travel, food and drink, oh and a weeks stay in a five star hotel in Madrid every year since 1966 lol. There’s no side effects at all in the village and most of the uk supermarkets sell produce grown in and around Palomares. Still, the rumours keep the property and cost of living down lol. I’ll happily glow in the dark eating my 1 Euro tapas and my 1 Euro 10cent beers and my 1 Euro coffee and brandy!

Sure glowing in dark could come in handy on the way home from the pub...no need for torches etc..

It’s a difficult book to find so if you’re interested in the true facts I would snap it up from Amazon, Amazon delivery to spain is pretty good.
