There’s never any laughing at people - many are in the same boat;
And it’s important to know that whilst Yoga is quite ...passive... without realizing it, you will find yourself sweating. It’s quite incredible and the Vera class as I said is always a great deal of fun with a very appreciative and loyal group of followers.
If or when you do come down, just ask for Ashlí - about 5’ 2”, slim and vivid red hair - you can’t miss her :-)
We’ll be there tonight ......

No worries, would love to give it a go as we will be finding allsorts of new activities to make new friends with when we arrive. Wont be coming over on a permanent basis until April so will look it up then.
Do you have the address of the yoga centre please?
Also, going to be a bit cheeky here but do you know anywhere in either Vera/Vera playa or nearby that teaches conversational Spanish so we can get a little more involved?
Cheers,
Kev.

Look forward to seeing you in April then; address is:
GymXtreme, Calle de los Lavanderas, 2, Local 5, Vera
Well both Garrucha and Vera offer free Spanish lessons at the Centro Educacional Permanente. Once you have basics, then it would be easy to get involved with an informal Intercambio group and go from there - this is of course assuming you don’t have the basics; if you do already, then when you arrive it will again be easy to get involved with a group in Vera / Vera Playa / Garrucha who are doing Intercambio.

Thanks for the info, will look forward to coming for an evening.
Does the ability to ask for a beer and a white wine count as the basics??? :)
We always try to have a go and do get by but sometimes the locals do talk a little fast for us and some things do get lost in translation. When we first arrived we where using the Google translator and typed in a lot of things and found it was very helpful in situations where we would have stood no chance, ie banking, taxes and utilities. This is all very well on a day to day working business but not very sociable I found.
I really do think you need to learn the language to get the full Andalusian experience would you not agree?.
Anywho thanks for all the info and enjoy your session this evening,
Kev.

Certainly do agree - we’ve been here 5 months and almost all our friends here are Spanish, who with some exceptions speak very very little English. We like it like that because it is forcing us to use and become comfortable with the language.
And when settling and dealing with Ayuntamiento, Oficina de Extranjeros, Correos, Seguridad Social .... It really really helps!

Yes I agree, its much more immersive if you try to do it in Spanish. A lot of people we have met in Bars and the such seem to have a lot of patience and do try to help out as much as they can. That's one of the things we enjoy about the area, its not a tourist destination as such with everyone speaking English over a full cooked breakfast :) Not a fan of that to be honest.
Perhaps after an evening of stretching you can take us to the nearest bar and show us how it is done :)

okay and one last question that does not involve a health aspect...in fact quite the opposite......but after 5 months can you please, please, please tell me if there is a decent eating establishment of the drunken Friday evening partygoer....... A Kebab shop in the area. There used to be one in Garrucha a few years ago but I think its gone now. Its one of those evil treats I enjoy once in a blue moon after a couple of beers :)

Ah - you really REALLY are asking the wrong person for that! I rarely drink and avoid fast foods ..... I’ll see what I can find though
