Absolutely. However there is a Spanish legal requirement whereby.one has to.declare if  over 50,000€ held abroad. I.don't have the.exact details but someone will.

Hi, if you want to expand youre search area to include inland a bit, try Voss agency in Huercal Overa, they have a very good rentals section and cover a decent area, roads are great, people very friendly. We've been in a small village called Urcal, not far from Bob n sandra when theyre in their cottage, nice village, school, doctors, bar, small restaurant, 7 minutes from the motorway, 12 minutes from town, we've been here since late March and love the peace and tranquility, coast is around 45 minutes away if we want to go there but we have a pool so dont really feel the need.

Turre just down the road from Mojacar is attracting a fair bit of interest too.

Best of luck with youre search, you shouldnt have too much trouble finding youre ideal place. Either for long term rentals, do some research jnto what "long term rental" entails too or even to buy.

Hi...you can arrange to transfer UK funds to Spanish banks simply once they have been set up. I'm using HSBC in UK and transfer to an account in Spain in GBP sterling. Then the funds are transferred to Euro account in the same Spanish bank in Vera. Hope this helps as going forward all UK funds such as pensions etc are easily transferred with minimum hassle..

Hi, we're in Urcal a bit north off the motorway we just enjoyed half price pizza at Imperial playa mojacar today in the lovely sunshine right on the beach with friends. Not bad for January lol.

We have a local bar in Urcal both town and village having been featured recently on A Place in the Sun. Darts nite tonite thursday.

We looked at Mojacar, Garrucha and other coastal villages but came inland for the peace and quiet not to mention no crowds and being able to park lol.

Been here since late March 2017 and love it, partner had front fly free zone done and a big enclosure built covering the pool and patio recently, now just waiting for the weather to stabilise to really put the icing on the cake so to speak lol, you wont regret moving out here.
