We are looking to purchase a property near Vera but have been reading about the the new train route that is going to be very near and the last thing we wanted is to purchase a property and find out there is a rail track at the bottom of it. We can't seem to get any straight answers from estate agents so was wondering how to get the latest information on where exactly this train track is going.

The TVE route is partially built, partially not and some sections haven't even been procured yet as far as I can ascertain. There seems to be no indication of when the whole route from Murcia to Almeria will actually be completed. The part running past Huerta Nueva in Los Gallardos has been completed (minus track, signals, coffee shops and trains) but now has weeds growing through the base. So it's not surprising that you can't get a straight answer from estate agents as no-one can give any sort of realistic answer as to when it will be finished.

To Try and Answer Your Questions:-
1. Some years ago all the free newspapers had maps of the new railway route. Even the railway station at Vera was marked. It's a high speed train with as little staff as possible on the train and at railway stations.
2. Whatever roads were accessible near the new railway line we drove just to get a hold on the actual route and how long it would take to hire a taxi at the new railway station in Vera to Mojacar Playa. We were upbeat bearing in mind an estate agent informed us that the line would carry its first trains in 2007. The course of several roads near Turré/LosGallardos were changed to facilitate the new railway.
3. I would say the main real estate agents around Vera, Garrucha, Mojacar would have route maps of the new rail line. Don't discount that there may be minor changes since it was first issued. No sort of planning in the area remains the same at the end of the process as it did at the start. But, I'm looking forward to the line operating (earliest 2023 and probably nearer 2030).
4. Another concern especially for those in Mojacar Playa is the route of the new road which will cut through parts of Mojacar Playa.

The Vera town hall should have a copy of the planned route. It has changed a few times over the years but now seems fixed. There will be a station which I think will be located near the Repsol petrol station (Vera - Garrucha road).

The U.K. will be back in the Eu before this train line is operational. 😂😂😂

I think you made a mistake Doris. The UK will be without Scotland before the rail line opens.
Thank you all for the information which is very much appreciated
It is supposed to go east of Cabuzana by approx 1 kilometre in the Desert Springs area.
