Hi, my husband and I are newly resident in the village and settling in well. There was a large van traveling the streets this morning. It’s load hailer was announcing something in Spanish which sounded fairly important. Does anyone know anything about this?

Usually they are trying to sell some service or advertising one.
You get used to them.
Anything of importance, security, flooding etc etc is normally dealt with by the Guard Civil. Then you will know, they use Police vehicles with flashing lights.

Its okay we had the same thoughts when we first moved to Spain.
There is no control on speaker announcements in Spain.
In the UK they needed to be licenced and could not last more than 7 seconds. Even the Ice-creme vans
Here there are no such restrictions apaprantly.
