Well we have just moved in to our new home here. Had our stuff shipped over walked in to find that we have been broken in to what a lovely start to the area

Sorry to hear that, we had a similar experience so know the kick in the whatsits it is.

Put a load of gear into our newly acquired Villa, ready for me and my brother to start decorating and furnishing a couple of weeks later. Arrived back to find the rajas and back door locks forced and all the small easily sellable items gone.

We had the Gardia out and filed a report next day, luckily we had put insurance in place.

We've since had a Securitas Direct monitored system fitted for peace of mind. Well worth the monthly fee.

sadly any empty looking property is an easy target for thieves especially if there are no neighbours nearby.  As you have found they are not afraid to break down the barriers to gain entry.  In some areas Russians are targeting properties to rent out or even sell to others and it is not easy to get your property back if they gain entry.

Good insurance and alarms are recommended and a light on timer but nothing beats a good neighbour.

Unfortunately we have just found out a few houses have been broken into around here. We are going to look at security as well now. Thank you for the reply

I’m so sorry to hear this!! What an awful start for you. I hope you are insured, not that it will compensate for the hassle etc incurred.

Hi really sorry to hear this as it is really not nice, especially in your new first home, had a similar experience, we have not been broken into Vera Campo location, but as a word of caution to all, we have had a lot of work done like patios and pool, gardening work, as a warning to others I was too trusting with the workers, we had a separate annex we let them use for the toilet and bathroom for cleaning up etc in there, not until they had gone did I notice that expensive items that were in the building were missing/stolen, we were asked if they could keep their tools etc in the garage, big mistake you don't notice it missing till you come to look for it, lost quite a few hundred euros worth of tools including electrical tools because I was naïve stupid and trusting, thinking if you are paying their wages they could be trusted. DEFINATLY NOT.

I would never trust anybody like this again and learned the hard way, I will need workers in the future and if they need their gear looking after then bring their own site box to lock it up in or take it with them, even escorted to the toilet, being broken into is not the only way these nasty low life vermin people steal from you, they are really nice to you face but when your back is turned, a warning to all,

really sorry for you loss, mine could have been avoided if I was smarter, Mel.

Thank you for your reply. Since moving in and finding all that all the appliances wasn't working , we had no water and the plumbing wasn't working and then the electrics kept tripping . We knew we were going to have teething problems but god we had more then that.

Hi Mel, Good grief I didn’t know this had happened to you and Lisa, unless Lisa has told me and I had forgotten. We had a lovely lunch with Ann the other Monday, couldn’t believe her news!! 😊
