Around 11pm last night we heard REALLY loud music ... which went on until after 2.30am, tonight it started up again around 11pm and is still going at 1.15am, I think it is some sort of festival in Taberno which is a good 5 minute drive from our place so you can imagine how loud it must be .... tried finding out online how many more nights it will go on for but can't find anything ... desperately want to open my windows as it's 26 degrees but just can't get any sleep with the noise.  Is this a yearly thing?  Does anyone know?  I just want to go to sleep .......

Hi.. I think there is a circus there at the moment but would not have thought it would last until early hours.

Kind Regards

Hi Ren,

July is Spanish fiesta time and celebrations go on usually throughout the month.

However, remember, we can all fall asleep at times with the tv blaring away in the background.

On Saturday night our bedroom was 100m away from live music enjoyed by both Spanish & English alike.

I think our bed was vibrating to the beat.

It was very loud and went on into the early hours. We did not see it as an inconvenience, rather we listened to it in bed, two cultures were enjoying themselves.

But like watching tv on a hot lazy afternoon and falling asleep, we fell asleep and actually both woke up when the music stopped, the silence woke us up.lol

If its possible follow my advice accept the music as there is little you can do about it. Perhaps put your own music  on in the bedroom as "background music" to drown out the public noise. Or put your bedroom tv on with a favourite film. It does work!

Sincerely hope you can learn to live with it and enjoy the vibrant Spanish fiesta's, celebrations and their love of music and fireworks.

Regards Al

Hi Jane, appreciate the comment, thank you.

Noise is difficult to verify. Even the distant sound of the guys tv next door can appear to be loud when you can faintly hear it, but it must be loud if you can hear it.

In reality its probably about 15-20 db. There is an app called Sound Meter which when used gives reassurance to sound levels with comparisons like " quiet living room" noise and so on.

Definately worth a go and suprisingly reassuring.

Best regards Al
