Hi All,
I am having a wood burner installed at my home in Tabernas town. Are there any restrictions on what type I can have, efficiency, rating etc. does it have to be A, A*, Eco or Eco-design etc. i wouldn’t to get one that’s not acceptable

Not that I know of. But I'd suggest a cast-iron one, not steel. With the price of wood /pellets, it is well worth get a decent, efficient one. There are plenty cheap n cheerful ones at ferreterias. The fireplace shop in Turre is a good start, if you haven't yet been there. We got an Invicta bought and fitted by Comercial Sorbas, (Pacqui speaks English, German, shop near Día) very happy with that.

Hi,
I have looked further into the wood burner requirements. From January 2022, it is illegal to sell and install any wood burners in the EU that do not comply with EcoDesign 2022. The efficiency & emissions requirements are clearly defined and must be adhered to. Anyway the install of a wood burner falls within major works and must be declared at the local Ayuntamiento. So that’s how I am going about it now 😃
