Can anybody recommend a family friendly beach nearest to Tabernas please. Looking to take the grandkids once we are over the pandemic. Tia.

Carboneras is a nice safe beach to take children, not the nearest, but I have not been to any beaches nearer Almeria than that one.

Hi, We are recently retired and thinking of buying a property in Tabernas. What sort of things are essential to know/look out for when buying there? TIA

I bought my cortijo 12 months ago, I am 5 minutes drive from the village.it is Very spanish here with very few people speaking english so you will need to learn basic spanish or point and grunt like me. If you need anything major ie.electrical goods TV's etc it means a trip into Almeria which has loads if big stores, takes about 25 mins in a car, which btw is essential as public transport is very basic.if you are after a quiet life it's perfect.if you prefer something a bit livelier you may want to thing about somewhere like Mojacar or Vera.but that's not for me.

Hi,  Thank you for your reply. We are looking to live in a typical Spanish area. We are happy to live the quiet life. We are currently learning Spanish.

What was your experience of buying in the area like?

Some lovely bargains at the moment due to Brexit and covid, used an estate agent in Torbas called Almeria Cortijo's guys name is Raoul and a solicitor from Mojacar Angela mirallas.both speak perfect english and were fantastic. What type of property are you looking for an apartment in town or something more rustic.also we are not to far from Almeria airport about 25minutes and both Mojacar and Vera beaches 25/30 minutes. Plus I love driving in Spain, the roads are usually very quiet and no road rage idiots.

Hi, Thanks for the info and agent/solicitor names, will look them up.

We are looking for a rustic property, ideally three bed, 2 bathroom (although we know one bathroom is more typical in these property's) Some kind of workshop/garage, space for hubby to tinker to his hearts content!! and water deposit to also use for keeping cool in summer, we know that they can't legally be called swimming pools.

Land that surrounds the house (detached house), don't mind neighbours, don't really want too much land to look after, although I do like gardening.

Be great if it was only 5 minutes into Tabernas by car as well, we don't want much do we!!

Bit wary of being near the race track, looks like it's used often, couldn't stand the noise.

Has to be liveable, we are prepared to update, new kitchen bathroom etc. Basic foot print needs to be big enough so no extensions are needed. Planning looks to be problematic so we would rather avoid the need.

Our budget is around 150,000 euros

We are moving to Mojacar area for the work but it wouldnt choose to live there, noisy, dirty, usual holiday makers shops etc Tabernas is a great place to live if you dont have to work 👍

Hi, Sorry to hear there is no work for you there. I guess this pandemic hasn't helped.

In answer to your question , yes we would be interested to see your property if you're thinking of selling.
