Hi,
If.no one replies then maybe drop an e mail to Ecocorp. They are on Google Search & may give you a definitive idea. I would mention my chap Domingo, who is superb, but he only speaks Spanish.
Best Wishes,

Thanks bob.my wife and i are currently in almeria looking at properties and have noticed a few have soler heaters on the roof.judt wondered how good they are.hope somebody replies with some good coms.regards
Bob, having been to rent in Cyprus, I'm amazed at just how few homes in Spain have solar water heaters. Almost all properties have them in Cyprus where possible. I would have thought that with the very expensive Spanish electricity providers, solar might be more widely used?
Hi stuart.
Can't understand it myself.have been to Egypt a few time over the last couple years and these things are all over the place.it's basically free not water.

Its mandatory now for new builds to have solar heaters fitted to get Habitation Licence. I think its post 2008/9 ish. I know the house we bought circa 2006 just escaped the requirement.
It was only a few years ago that the Government outlawed Solar Electricity Panels and those entrapeneurs who decided to fit them found out to their cost that they were fining owners 40 & 50,000€
Spain was being ridiculed around the world. The PP Government relented and stopped the Guardia ripping down peoples systems and fining them.
At one stage skips were filling up with panels dumped by owners terrified of such huge fines whilst others were taking them home to stockpile them for better days.
Panels were outlawed by the power Iberdrola had with the acting Government because they refused to connect the systems to their grid and refund owners for any electricity returned from panels.
Iberdrola won their case in the Madrid High Court then the Guardia attacked owners systems.
Easy to google for more info or look at back copies of the costa newspapers.
Unbelievably stupid action.
Solar water systems are now readily available if you have the time and money.
Budget around 1800€ and timewise takes about 10 years to recouperate the cost based on residency. But these costs can be confirmed by the installers .
Early systems consisting of black pipes sandwiched between glass ( el-cheepo) were unsuitable for Spain and used to burst or leak, so if buying property with this type of inferior system, beware. Factor in to replace in your costings.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Matey you are a fund of knowledge. I was just relieved the finca escaped as we are 1.5km from nearest power.
Wish I had seen some.of those binned panels.
Hope all good with you & yours. Better half back in UK so have retreated to tranquillity of cottage & painting. Not the art form.
Saludos,
Bob and Sandra

Hi Bob, thanks for comments. You must confide your trick on how you managed to persuade your better half to give you a Gentlemans holiday. Enjoy.
As I wrote, unbelievable Spanish story, worth a bit of research for a laugh.
If I remember correctly the dispute lasted years, even making the headlines as far away as Australia ( my Ossie friend showed me the National Newspaper headlines).
Yep! Solar Panels were banned in sunny Spain 😎
Yep. It was while at Australian home.it came.up & had to contact Salvador in.Mojacar.
Funeral I'm afraid. Just our age-people dropping off branch.
Crem is tomorrow. A merciful release actually, not the way we want to go.
Death & taxes,
Saludos,
Bob
