Hi Jen,

We have just brought our two miniature schnauzers out from UK. We used Pets2G 2. Who transported them by road through France and Spain. They picked them up from our house in UK and we picked them up from the Service Station/Sercotel RIscal at Puerto Lumbreras. Great service from this company and not as expensive as we thought.

Hi

Many thanks for this.

I checked their website out straight away and have emailed them.  I really like the sound of this option 😀.

Thanks again.

Jen, They really are great. Stacey is very helpful and allayed any fears we had. Ours were delivered by Paul and Bob who were awesome.

Good Luck with the move.

Hi

Well thanks to your recommendation I have pretty much booked my dogs journey and feel a lot happier about this than I did about her flying so thank you very much.

Her name is Dolores and she speaks some English as well.  Her Vets are called V-Pro in Aguadulce, excellent with the boys, nothing is too much trouble for her and we have had no issues with the dogs rabies injection or filling out their passports.

Thanks for this information.

I feel a lot better knowing that she will be in safe hands while we are there.

No worries, need anything else when you get here just ask.  I dont know if you are aware but it is good advice to get a flea/tick collar when you get here as there is a tick in Spain that can cause some nasty problems if your fur baby is not protected, they last about 6 months and you can get them from most pet stores here.  Most villages have a pet store located nearby.

Thanks.

No doubt I will ask a few more questions.  She is my main concern so it's nice to talk to someone that cares for their dogs as much as I do.

I am a little worried how she will handle the heat.  She loves laying in the sun but is obviously not used to that kind of heat.

Are dogs allowed on any of the beaches?

Dogs are allowed on beaches from late October I think, (we have a house cat) lol

"That kind of heat" has dissipated to some large degree, down to around 20 degrees now but early mornings thru to mid afternoons are still very pleasant.

Dogs are not allowed on any of the San Juan de los Terreros beaches even out of season, there is a dog friendly beach on the way to Aguilas. there are plenty of places however in SJDLT to walk your dog away from the beaches.

You may want to get the Scalibor dog collar in the UK via the internet as it is recommended that these are worn up to a week before travel. Good news is that our dog Bruce hasn't had any ticks or sand flies in SJDLT yet, suggest you also get a tick removal tool just in case.

You may want to find a vet closer than Aguadulce as this is near Almeria. We use Centro Veterinario Anubis in Aguilas, no need for appointments, English speaking and reasonable rates

Our dog is 3 and is not bothered by the heat but he is an Australian Kelpie, just be ready with the broom to pick up all the fur he will shed.
