Excellent post Allanmis. We bought a motorhome only last week (Irish registration, but left-hand drive). It's sixteen years old, but in good nick. We used it to travel further west (in Ireland) complying with our Covid restrictions. Although, we have an apartment in Mojacar Playa we hope to bring the motorhome there asap (probably late 2021) to explore the whole area. We don't intend using caravan parks and just want to explore the open atmosphere of southern Spain.

I think we got a good deal with awning, bike rack, tv aerial and wheel levellers thrown in when we paid. We will be subscribing to the numerous websites available to augment our knowledge and enhance our common sense.

What a surprise Mathew, didn, t see u as a motorhome owner. Can highly recommend touring Europe. We spent 4 years visiting different areas, 6 weeks in spring, 10 weeks in late summer. It was one of our jaunts whilst touring Spain and Portugal we came across the beach's at carbanares, on the border of almeria and murcia. This led us to stray inland and found our house in fuente amarga whilst staying with the guys at Los lucas restaurant. Haven, t looked back, we love the tranquility, yet the coast is 40 mins drive. Like you we are now wondering should we get another motorhome. We have plenty of parking, perhaps we could share

Good idea, James. We're still in the first flush of expectation with our motorhome. We're still getting to road cambers, overgrown hedges, wind, parking problems, unruly residents. You probably know more about these than I.

Mathew have you got a tow bar ? You could hook up to my horse trailer and take him and the trap and do Ireland in style . I’ve boxed him down to the Limoges area to look after friends farm and dogs a couple of times . The locals loved seeing him trot thru the villages and hamlets in search of a bar to tie up too .

Our campervan has a name - El Sombrero. It's written on both sides in red and yellow lettering. Obviously, the previous owners have a love of the culture of Spain. The tape deck has a cassette tape stuck within and included amongst its songs is "This year we're off to Sunny Spain, Viva Espana . . . " What more culture could you look for?

Worth buying a sat nav built for mobile homes , very useful when comming to roads you cannot turn around in if you make a mistake .. also for low bridges. Mine came in very handy .. some roads are just not made for them ...I enjoyed my use of one travelling around Spain ... just a word of caution be careful we’re you stop over night. As I had the unfortunate break in while a sleep. ..was told to park were most lorry drivers did , and there was a 24 hr bar restaurant there ( near Madrid ) . Nog a nice experience , the Spanish police were helpful and said it happens to thease veichles a lot .. and  advised me we’re to park over night , I just added more security door alarms and window ones as well with a security chain added to the door ...good luck with it I enjoyed the 2/3 years I had it ..
