To swap to a new supplier you simply need to supply your chosen new supplier with the CUPS number which identifies your meter / distribution address.
I use Iberdrola - they are the main supplier and all other retailers “buy” their electricity from them, making the others a tiny bit more expensive.
Reasons I use Iberdrola

Reasons I use Iberdrola
Committed to renewable energy, large investment in renewablesCan contract with them online and if needed they have a dedicated English helplineDamn good pricing - I use their “Elige 8 Horas” plan which allows you to select 8 hours during the day when you’d like promotional / cheap rate. Doesn’t have to be a contiguous block of 8 hours - just 8 periods through the day totaling 8 hours. It also doesn’t have to be the same every day, so you can craft a plan that suits your lifestyleReally REALLY good app - you can manage everything from the app on the phone
Many thanks for your informative reply.
We are already with Iberdrola.
We gave our solicitor power of attorney and they set everything up for us before we arrived in Spain. We had no idea of the '8 hour slots' so we will contact them ASAP
Many thanks. Jean and Phil

If you are already with Iberdrola, then changing plan to go to the Choose 8 Hour plan is the work of a few seconds - you can do it on the website or on the app and you don't need to take a new contract as you are simply changing plans

CUPS number should be somewhere on your bill. It’s a 20 digit number that will look similar to ES0125000007100055LL (mine with a few digits changed 😁)
I found the easy way was to go into Albox, near the light shop on the dangerous corner the electric office of Iberola is based. Take in your last electric bill and nia etc. The lady in there speaks English and is very helpful, the bills are in english and for me they are cheaper than endesa. Ask about their night rate for doing your washing which is also good for when your use your fans or air con of a night. They do everything for you, even sort out your last provider.
Call James at Si. Got me the best deal and no charge.

I’ve tried looking for the iberdrola app but can’t seem to find it on the AppStore
Has it got another name or am I missing something?
