Visa's

Hi all.
We have now moved to a property in Oria and have now just submitted our visa applications, ( in Manchester ).
The consulate in Manchester have given us our passport's back and said due to the backlog it may take up to 6 weeks to issue the visa.
They also said they would post them to us.
My question:-
Do we just stick the visa into our passport's and do they need to be stamped at a border crossing.
