Electricity in Spain seems to be quite pricey and all suppliers are about the same, all offer various rates and discounts.

We are with Iberdrola and have no issues.  They offer a smartphone app so you can view / download / print your monthly invoices.

We have had to contact them to increase power and for one or two other things.  We’ve contacted them by email and response has been very very fast and efficient.

I am not sure if they offer English language assistance.

Hi Jenni.

We are with Endesa and they seem a little hit and miss. Bills are random and they even managed to swap my tariff to something I didn't request. We have put this down to teething troubles with a new account and will wait until a few months have passed and see if all settles down. We have registered for online access and can check the bills and consumption via the internet which seems pretty straightforward. I guess when we have been there and settled down for a while we will look around at the other suppliers and the deals they offer as we do back here in Britain.

If you are purchasing a property out here the solicitors can deal with the utility companies on your behalf to get things up and running.

Best wishes,

Kev..

Hi Kev,

Thanks for that, we are moving from the north of Spain where we have Iberdrola, which is very expensive, but another company called Europa have just started, they are a 'Green' supplier and about 20-30% cheaper than Iberdrola, and very efficient, I have been told. But the Oria area doesn't seem to have a 'green company.

But thanks for the information, much appreciated.

Kind regards  Jenni
