I always attribute the Basura tax as the UK council tax. Its via the Tributaria de Almeria and gets taken out of our account every 3 months. Its certainly not expensive, as a previous contributor said around 30/40 euros per 3 months. I Rent my property but cannot imagine the amount being much higher if you are a home owner. Your lawyer should have mentioned it surely?

The basura is for the rubbish bins that is why you pay every 2 or 3 months. The IBA I think it is called you pay once a year around Sept, the cost of which various on where you live. If you live in the campo it is approx 100 euro plus depending on how much land you have and the size of your property. If you live in a village once again depending on size of house or land, mine is 300 plus. I hope this info helps.
