Wanted: Gravel
Does anyone know where I can buy pea shingle/ decorative gravel by the ton bag? Delivered to Oria? I saw on an old forum post a place near the Los Llanos market - does that place still exist? And is so has it a name??

Have you tried the builders merchant in Oria, they do not speak English so you would need to translate. All the chippings and gravel etc are right at the back of the site.

Is that the place just to the right of the roundabout if you approach it from our house? I haven’t tried it but thanks I’ll go up their tomorrow.

No, there is a small cross monument on the right as you come into the village from Albox. There is a road just before on the left where the new house is being built, turn left and a little way up the road the builders merchant is on the left. They sell tiles, bricks, plumbing etc, prices are OK delivery about 20 euros.

Thank you. Andy
I went to the place near Los Llanos market last February and the prices of their aggregate were significantly lower than those available at the Builders Merchants in Chirivel.
I was wanting about 12 tonnes and even with their delivery costs for transporting the material to Chirivel, I would have saved a small fortune. Unfortunately my planned delivery for the following month had to be put on hold because of the Covid situation.
I think if you are only wanting a tonne or so the pricing with the delivery cost may not be so attractive.
I may still have their telephone number if you are still interested
Richard

Thanks Richard. I am only looking at a ton and apparently the builders yard in Oria sells it so I am going up there in a minute! Andy
Thanks to all you helpful people! Went To Juan Ollers today and beside being frightened to death by their enormous dog when I walked through the yard it was a successful visit. (Actually the dog was very friendly too and put his paws on my shoulders -and I’m not particularly small!!).
Anyway gravel and other bits delivered today. Three ferreterias’s within 200 yards of each other. Oria clearly the Mecca for Ferreterias! Andy
