Hello.  I wonder if someone can help me please?

I need to dispose of 2 non working fridges, is there a local eco park around or Is there anyone I can contact to collect?

Many thanks.

Eco what ? Lol. We have an open air recycling centre that the majority of English and Spanish dont know what the word recycle means with plastics in the green bins and ordinary trash in the yellow recyc bins !!

Youre problem will be getting the fridges to any kind of recyc centre, from there there are scrap guys who "take things away in the night" the biggest problem even here in Spain is that fridges and freezers have nasty chemicals no-one seems to know what to do with.

Best of,

Regards

Well done Chevy & absolutely right. Most seem to dump in nearest rambla. Anyway there's this terrific Brit, Steve aka Stig of the Dump who works at Arboleas Tip & Recycling Centre and he may be able to help if only with advice.

It's 664 7109 21

Tell him Dr. Bob says 'HI' & hope he's feeling better.

Anns off to the Uk on friday and I'm being tasked with shopping at the big Mercadona and Iceland in Vera before she comes back on the 4th of September.

The chinese is on my mind as is either of the two pubs in Mojacar that do Sunday roasts, what was that place you mentioned prior to your probs ?

Apologies, an addendum. After the Inundation of Dec 2016 I needed to recycle 2 Solar batteries. I contacted [email protected] and they told me where the recycling centres were locally. I know that means you still have to get  them there but maybe Brian of Brian's 2nd hand on Playa/ Paseo de Mediterraneo can help.

Just a bit more info.

There's an appliance recycling facility at the extreme south western corner of Huércal-Overa, adjacent to the Tanatorio.

It is worth checking if they do take refrigeration appliances before transporting them up there; I know they accept washing machines.

Dumping in a rambla is disgraceful. Everything left there gets broken up by flood water every five years or so and discharged into the sea. Shelfish strain out the plastic particles and you end up eating it, grilled, in a restaurant.
