Just a thought.

We own an apt in Mojacar but for obvious reasons have not been able to visit this year and may not be allowed to for the rest of the year.

Due to Spain effectively closing their borders and banning entry to non residents, and the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office recommending not traveling and returning. Is there an argument to only pay this tax for the period before Spain closed the border and for the period after its opened. Pro-rata.

In effect it is a state ban on entry for accepted very good reasons, so there's no issues with that. Or do I simply not understand the tax? Obviously all other costs are being paid , bins, development etc .

Wouldn't think so as they are property rates for the council to carry out the local work which has still had to carry on inspite of the lockdown.  in fact more so because they have had to disinfect the roads and issue masks to residents as well as have the local police force working practically all the time.  All of which has to be paid for whether you are here or not.  Same as in the UK.

Hi just a quick question, we're thinking of buying a small apartment in Mojacar pueblo, me and the two kids. What is it like? Is it too warm in July/ August?

I´ve lived in the pueblo and by the beach and can vouch for the fact that pueblo living is cooler at night although still pretty hot during the day. Another advantage of the pueblo is that mosquitos don't seem to be as bothersome up there than down on the flat, in fact I never got bites unless I went down to the beach to dine.
