Hi Marcioca, Thanks for the reply, we have Salvador doing our application, they are very good. They told us just to wait and see but it’s good to get an idea of how long the process takes. Congratulations on your residency, hopefully we’ll be a couple of weeks behind you, all the best, Mac.

Hey Mac thanks! yes you should hear soon hopefully! Best luck on everything from now on😀🤞

To all those here waiting on Almería to approve residency I would quote the late, great Douglas Adams ... Don’t Panic.

I’m not suggesting any of you are, but sitting in the country waiting, waiting, waiting can be a little nerve wracking.  Things can take time to happen here, but happen they do.  If all your paperwork was correct, all the stamps in the right place, all the pieces photocopied that need...

...ed to be ... you’ll be fine and you WILL get the good news in due course, so sit tight, try not to worry and await the day when you WILL get the blessed and long-awaited phone-call / email.  Spain has an almost unhealthy love of bureaucracy and that can slow things down as paper gets stamped, photocopied, stapled and then sent to another person who using that then has to generate another piece of paper to be stamped and photocopied (and stapled) and so on.

My best wishes to those still waiting - take a deep breath, it’s going to be fine. :-D

Yes Dario that’s a good and helpful message. Yes, they do take their time, they do.

I was used to that when was still in Brazil - where I was born- and lived there till my late thirties. You’re right, there’s almost a unhealthy love of bureaucracy which I have come to the conclusion it is a fear that “something might not be totally legal” so they need more papers to prove and prove again and sign and confirm the signature and on and on” . My English husband in Brazil had to go through that. Actually it seemdto be a bit quicker than here.. maybe because in Brazil we don’t have siesta, no one stops working in the middle of the day. It does drag and with Covid on top of it and Brexit! Yes guys, patience , it will happen! Good luck to everyone is still waiting🤞

Sorry I didn’t quite understand your message. You said your appointment is or was 2nd December?

I’ve just heard my residency was accepted and approved today. My lawyers are going to make an appointment ASAP and let me know Monday when I’ll pop in with my documents and photos.

Have you already been to Almeria for an appointment for finger print?

Sorry, when I read it back again, it was a bit ambiguous! We had our first appointment last Dec. 2nd. Just got resolution letter. Was wondering how long the wait for fingerprints appointment was, whether there was a long wait for that as well.

Ah ok. So, as I understood you didn’t use a lawyer or gestor? You went yourselves to Almeria with documentation to apply for residency? if that’s the case , your application went in 2/Dec and you just got a letter saying it was approved?

We used lawyers in Mojacar. Handed in everything and application went in 15/12:2020 (maybe by website I am not sure how the lawyers do) . We then received letter of  confirmation that they received the application. That confirmation we used  in U.K. when we wanted to return to Spain after spending Christmas there. Beginning of January Spanish authorities were sending back some people who didn’t have residency! But our papers worked well and we entered Spain easily.

So only now, 4 months later, our lawyers told us I was approved for residency. (My husband got his 3 months ago as he’s got Irish passport) I Will see the lawyers on Monday with photos/passport/padron and they’ll tell me when the appointment in Almeria is.

I’ll keep in touch and let you guys know how long it will take to get my final TIE card.

Hiya, well my next step, according to our lawyers is to go to Almeria for finger print and etc but don’t know when as they told me they’re making the appointment ASAP. I’ll be going on Monday to thei lawyers office to hand in my passport, padron and photos. I imagine I’ll hear about the d...

...ate then.

As for you, I think yours shouldn’t take too long now. My application went on the 15/12/2020 and they heard today. One week ago someone who applied on the 11, I think, heard the outcome. So it took another week to process a few days. Do you have lawyers or gestor doing that for you? If so speak to them as as soon as they hear your outcome you’ll be given a date to attend in Almeria. I personally think it should be better to come over sooner than later.

Good luck and keep in touch! I hope your house seeks soon!
