Hello,

I am looking to move to Mojacar over the next few years (undecided when at the moment) and am on the lookout for a part-time job between 20-30 hours a week.

I have a wide range of skills. Have worked as an accounts assistant for British Sky Broadcasting, a postman and as a sales assistant for a supermarket.

I have a First Class honours degree in Outdoor Activities Management too.

Hobbies include chess (represented England as a junior), walking, socialising and many different sports.

Would love to hear from you if you have any type of work available. Thanks!

The first question has to be what passport you are on - if UK, then sorry but your chances of getting the necessary work permit is slim.

Unfortunately you can no longer just arrive and work - unless you are on an EU passport?

Are you a European passport holder?

Sorry to say it but (reality check) your chances are slim to none on a UK passport and if you don't have a fluent level of (at least) Spanish and preferably also  French and German. Also, bear in mind that your honours degree may not be recognised by the Spanish authorities. Any earnings will bear very little relation to what you may have earned to date. To make a living wage you'd need to consider 2-3 jobs ( as many currently do). The Hacienda will then take a substantial part of any income earned. I strongly suggest you make a fact finding visit time see for yourself; at the end of the day, the key issues you face are whether you have a UK passport and whether your fluency in other languages is up to scratch. You may get the necessary permits to work freelance ( autonomo) but then face making monthly payments to Seguridad Social of around €320. On top of that you'd need to pay for your day to day living expenses - accommodation, utilities bills, food etc. You would be well advised to do your research very, VERY thoroughly before coming over to live and base any move in an acknowledgement of the realities you will face. As other responders have noted, it's a complex situation and 100 times more so since Brexit.
