so all clear thankfully no follow up treatment is necessary just check in 6 months.  i am one of the lucky ones it was dealt with on time and quickly by the Hercal Vera consultant makes up for the frustration of the hospital's lack of assistance when looking for where you are supposed to be and the lack of signage to point you in the right direction!  Thanks Jenni for your best wishes and thanks all for your help.

so first chemo today appointment at hospital for 10.15am but not seen by oncologist until 12!  not good sitting watching the other women going in for their chemo with various levels of hair loss!!!  saw oncologist and given prescription to take to famacia for after effect meds then told to come again on 23 feb at 11.30am (that'll be after 1 then!) and to have a blood test at my med centre the day before, that's going to be difficult as they only do them on Mon and Wed and the results come back 2 days later, but will have to see what they say.  Went in for chemo took 1hr 30mins, go to loo first!!, feel ok just a little tired this evening but no nausea so that's ok.  checked meds online and one is a anti depressant so will give that a miss, one the farmacia didn't have but it reads as a laxative so don't think i need that one either!  So do they dish out these pills as they do for not a good reason.  Wait for tomorrow to see how I feel then.

Just to end the day car parked while husband popped to the shop and when he came back 5 mins later a toe rag of a driver had bumped the rear corner of our 1 year old car and damaged it thank you for that been safe in the garage all this time.

Didn't they give you any anti sickness tabs??? Are you allowed a translator in with you? I have found they do things very differently here and they aren;t very good at explaining why they are giving you this or that, it reminds me of 1950's UK. But after saying that you do seem to get seen quickly if they think it could be something nasty.

Anyway I wish you well, I am sending positive thoughts your way.  JX

thanks Jenni they do allow translator but told me she was not necessary for this appointment as it was so long to wait.  yes they did prescribe sickness pills but the others I don't feel are needed by me.  you have to be alone for the treatment which is ok as just read a book on Spanish but didn't learn much as brain is not very absorbent at the moment!

No I can see why your not going to take them, I wouldn't either, if I didn't feel they were necessary. I hope you are feeling OK this morning. Fingers crossed, keep us posted please JX

so 2nd chemo resulted in a very sore arm because the line went under the skin not into a vein so now I have to go down to Almeria for a PICC to be fitted so that it won't happen again.  why is it that the hair on your head falls out but my hairy legs persist and so does the moustache I have to shave!!!   the effects of chemo are varied but suffice to say the cure is worse than the start (but I suppose at least it won't kill you)  sore nose sore mouth sore arm broken sleep from having to pee over and over can't wait for the last session and looking forward to hair growth on head.  amazed at how many women and men are being treated in the Oncology at Hercal Vera at the moment so glad to be here and not on a waiting list in UK.

Picc placed in arm at Almeria took 3 attempts by trainee nurse in full PPI in the end the guy who saw me in the office did it in his white coat and mask!  Went for 3rd chemo but couldn't have it as arm was swollen and lumpy so sent for ultra scan to check for blood clots.  and as bloods not correct also had to have injections in stomach again.  Week later bloods ok and 3rd chemo so far all ok still got sore lumpy arm but gone from being given huge ice block to carry home to a cream to rub in morning and night!  not sure what it's doing as still lumpy.  Oh and 5 injections to do myself at home.

The nurse has also finally decided to use translate audio on her smart phone to talk to me which is a great help though sometimes a bit loose in translation.  Unfortunately my pay as you go does not support the same way for me.  One more session in 3 weeks and hopefully that will be it for me.  Just radio therapy to decide on then.  And 5 years of pills!
