I have Residentia and, for your information, pay tax in Spain. Do you ?

I own a business here and actually live here full time... not use it as an extended holiday destination.  It’s probably why I was successful in obtaining the various Subvenciónes during lockdown.

that aside I only asked because I was wondering if you were aware of the rules regarding continuous residency for maintaining Residencia.  Still if you pay tax here, you obviously know all about that.

I notice on the facebook equivalent of this forum there are some people indicating where the police are and are not active between Alicante and Costa Almeria. Are those posters stupid or what?

I see that you apologised for your inaccurate comment. Your last action says that you are located in Mojácar but is that where you currently are? I have a property on the Playa but will not return there until 7th November; I wouldn’t dream of commenting on the current local situation unless I ...

...was actually there

Incidentally, if you are coming here to try and avoid the UK lockdown, you may want to bring lots of reading or watching material to tide you through the imminent, much stricter Guardia Civil enforced lockdown, now widely acknowledged to be happening around middle of November.

Considering Social media is open to all, they are merely being helpful by indicating to police officers who may be monitoring some sites as to where to now concentrate their efforts - in the places these fine folk say there are no police ....

An update for those still coming.

As of tomorrow, Tuesday 10/11/20, the following new rules apply to whole of Andalucia

1. All non-essential businesses must close at 6pm.  That’s everything except food, chemist, health, hairdressers.

2. Curfew is now 10pm to 7am

3. You may NOT travel outside your municipality except for essential reasons i.e. Doctor.  So if you are in Vera, you cannot go to Garrucha / Mojácar / Turre etc.  likewise if you are in Mojácar, cannot go to Turre / Vera / Garrucha etc.

This is for an initial period of two weeks.

This simply by way of information.  I’m not interested in any discussion of how “they can’t do this”. Any crazy theories about “New World Order”, “Economic Reset” or “Government control” please keep to yourself.

I would contact C.A.B Spain - they should be able to give you a definitive answer.  What you’ll get here is more likely to be educated guesses and opinions - usually very very valid and borne of experience, but unless there is a lawyer or traffic officer or some such following this thread, you’ll not get anything definitive.

MY OPINION - for what it’s worth - if you have documentation to prove that you are traveling now to your primary residence and can show you have applied for Residencia, I BELIEVE you should be ok

At this point, if there ARE any lawyers with specialist knowledge or Traffic officers on this thread - please please help us out.

Thanks for that reply. It is the most stressful period of our lives.we have done everything correctly but the covid restrictions are beating us down not to mention the deadline to get everything sorted out before the brexit deadline  a very worrying situation which we have no control over.

My apologies - Citizens Advice Bureau - search for CAB Spain and it should come up with a website.

As I say, if you are traveling to your primary residence I think you’ll be ok.  Airports are still open and national road borders remain open.  Despite the seeming severity, we still have people from Madrid and even France driving in to our Urbanización.  Like I say, carry proof.
