Thanks Dario .... not the first time you’ve provided  information to reassure me 👏. Karen

Yes, I second that. Thanks, again Dario. Andy

Here the waters are a bit murky because the financial requirements even now vary from province to province.  Some provinces require the 9.050€ per annum to be in the form of income, whereas others require only an annual average bank balance (attested by certificate in Spanish) of 9.050 €

When the transition period ends, as it stands with the law right now, the 27.000 € is required to be shown as annual income, however there has been talk (mostly among expats, it must be noted) of “special rules” being made for UK passport holders who arrive after the transition period .... ...

...it is possible that an extension to June 2021 to apply for Residencia may be granted, but I believe you would still need to show you actually arrived and started living in the country before December 31st 2020 (by means of Padrón possibly?)

If you get residency whilst renting

Do you have to reapply when you’ve  purchased a property  thus meaning a change of address

Many thanks Brian

Not reapply, no; once you have Residencia, you have your Residencia.  If you move, all you have to do is notify change of address and have Residencia card reissued with new address.

Many don’t bother, but to comply with the law, you must notify change of address (and prove new address with new Certificado de Empadronamiento)

I’m going through this at the moment and I’m using Mundiabigados in Garrucha. Good service and prices seem reasonable. I would recommend them. Good luck. AndyA

I’ll second Andy56 for Mundi Abogados - excellent service, but also up La Alfoquia way you can use C.A.T.S. Services; also excellent and on the ball
