Hi Tricia,

I have always been meaning to join one such group but something seems to have got in the way e.g. broke my leg on one visit to Mojacar. A few other problems arose too, but next time I visit Mojacar I'll be "signing" up to a walking group. I understand there are no formalities, just arrive and sta...

...rt walking. The group meets outside Los Arcos (now closed) on Wednesday mornings and journey from there. There are no fees, but if the walking area for that day is a short drive away you might be asked for €1.00 or €2.00 towards petrol. I have no contacts with the group, but from time to time I meet some who are involved and my information here is from them.

The walking group does not operate during July/August because of the heat/humidity. But, it is active during the rest of the year. I know they walked around the area of the mines in Bédar and to the masts beyond Mojacar Pueblo. I know they have walked  much more than these. There is no competition, they walk as fast as the slowest walker and adjourn for a cup of coffee after.

Hi Matthew hope your well,I've read several times now that you mention Los Arcos is now closed is this permanent do you no as I've been unable to get there this year Christina was a good friend of my wife's and just wondering if she's OK. Thanks.

Hi Darrin, To be honest, I don’t know whether the closure is temporary or final. My guess is that it is final. I hope I’m wrong.

Don’t think Christina will return to los arcos . She left the first week I arrived October 2021. Emptying bar before she left . I was their to see her off . I was their until end of march 2022 and no sign of anyone in that time . The lemon often does Christmas Day dinners , normally two sittings . I went last year and Chris puts a good spread on . Looks as tho you are sorted now tho

Good old Mitab , last port of call for me . I think the Emerald will be open , they seem to be keen and doing well since taking over early 2022 .

La Parata has a Christmas Day Menu on their website, www.restaurantelaparata.com.  Check it out for reservations though.  It has an excellent reputation and I suspect they may well be booked up.

Thanks Dinkytoys
