...rt walking. The group meets outside Los Arcos (now closed) on Wednesday mornings and journey from there. There are no fees, but if the walking area for that day is a short drive away you might be asked for €1.00 or €2.00 towards petrol. I have no contacts with the group, but from time to time I meet some who are involved and my information here is from them.

The walking group does not operate during July/August because of the heat/humidity. But, it is active during the rest of the year. I know they walked around the area of the mines in Bédar and to the masts beyond Mojacar Pueblo. I know they have walked  much more than these. There is no competition, they walk as fast as the slowest walker and adjourn for a cup of coffee after.

La Parata has a Christmas Day Menu on their website, www.restaurantelaparata.com.  Check it out for reservations though.  It has an excellent reputation and I suspect they may well be booked up.
