No worries....I totally understand that feeling of that first Christmas out here...(for us it was last year)...yeah it's special & you'll find that own way of making it your own.

Yeah like with UK there'll be some places that don't hit the mark so it's all about doing the research but ultimately even if its not up to par, it's all about wider context and about where you are, and moving out here etc, and the whole life-journey is a pretty major thing. So just get yourselve...

...s over & start enjoying it. There's loads on offer whether you want traditional fayre or more international offerings.

Part of the fun is sampling everything out here, so just get yourselves over & start to explore the new chapter!

Thanks Rich. Sound advice!

Thank you. We don't do much over Christmas usually, as we try to go skiing. Now we can come and go as we please, subject to the 90 day rule obvs.

As long as we can have a couple of drinks,  a meal and perhaps make some new friends, we will be happy!

Feliz Navidad!

First year we arrived it was sunny and warm enough to have a swim, plus bottle of fizz on the beach. Last year we had a evening meal at the Estancia in the commercial center ,on the playa.Took photos of ourselves in front on the Xmas 🎅 lights. And of course if your into ⛷ skiing good resort 2hours from Mojacar.Enj

Since we moved to Partaloa we have spent more xmas dinners eating outside than inside.

Although once the sun sets it feels very cold.

But nothing a real log fire in the villa can not sort out.

But each to there own where they prefer where to send Xmas.

Hi everyone.  My husband and I are just about to complete on an apartment in mojacar pueblo. We're already planning for Christmas! Can anyone please help with details of where will be open on Christmas day and how to get there if the place is on the Playa, as I understand the bus won't be ru...

Thanks in advance!

Hi, the busses will be running on their winter timetable Number 1 the Yellow Circular Bus and Number 2 Bus Mojácar Playa - Vera. They run once an hour in the winter and stop running early evening. You can call in at the Mojacar Tourist Office in the Pueblo for a timetable or email them and they will email a schedule. The Blue Bus is run by Baraza Bus Company and you can view their timetable online. Christmas is a much more quiet affair than in the UK thank goodness, no hype or constant Christmas Music on a loop and no pressure to buy food, presents cards etc, although there are Christmas Lights in the towns and Carol Singers.  I’m a resident and have spent 2 Christmas here and love it perhaps because I’m a humbug 🤣 There are some restaurants on the Playa that will provide a Traditional Turkey Lunch if that takes your fancy. Yes it’s quiet but still bars and restaurants open. Last Christmas Day was beautiful, sunny and warm and people on the beach!! The Pueblo will be extremely quiet and perhaps only a handful of restaurants open if that. The important thing is you will be enjoying your new home and surroundings in a different country so embrace the different culture. 😊

No getting away from the fact that Christmas is low key out here..... but we live here and love it like that! The new year and 3 kings celebrations are the big thing, and being up at the Pueblo you can walk to the local Plaza by the church and celebrate with 12 grapes at midnight on the last night of the year.... along with the locals. Enjoy your new home. We are ex-pats who have residencia and would never go back to dark depressing UK. So many moaners there......

Thumb a ride. You'll be on your way in a jiffy, whether upwards or downwards. Everyone (99,99999%) in Mojacar is above-board.

Try it, its an exilarating experience. No need to lift a leg, just a thumb!!!???
