You need a product that they eat and carry back to the nest.

Trampa Contra Hormigas - also from Mercadona. Just a few drops required, on a piece of card.

It's an uphill battle really they are everywhere

I know you are looking for an expert but if you want to save some dosh get some clear silicon in a tube and a gun then plug up all the holes or cracks where you see them coming in.

Some good advice here as well Five ways to get rid of ants in your Spanish holiday home

I have followed this and seem to have the upper hand at the mo.

When you find one or two see if you can follow the trail they are on and you will find where they are coming from.

This is exactly what an expert will do. Elimate thier access all of the sprays and powders work but you need to stop them getting in.

Spend a day or two at this and you may alleviate your problem there really is no way you will ever eliminate the buggers.

Had a similar problem. Eventually found the access point and filled it with blue tack. They cannot eat through it.

Hi

Sorry to say this but yes they are probally inside your walls and electrical sockets.

If you take off the electrial covers I would suggest that you do not use a spray in there. Get some polvo de hormiga from a ferreteria and a plastic picnic  ketchup mustard etc.. bottle from a bazzar one with a spout that you can squeeze put the powder in there and carefully dispense into opening in the sockets

BTW you can also use Talcum podwer if you are worried about pets may make them sneeze but should not harm them.

What you really have to do break the ants' pheromone trail. The powders gets absorbed through their skin and clogs up their airways, killing them off for good.

Yes persevere  to be honest ants are not my major worry here, these buggers are one of the joys of living on the campo in summer. 🤷‍♂️

Hi John. You are never in a million years going to eradicate the ants. The wet May and June and extreme heat since then has resulted in huge numbers of them. If you look around outside you will see millions of them so whatever nasty chemical you use will only kill them off in that area. I'm having problems myself mostly because my cats leave little crumbs if food around. The only effective thing I have done is clean, vacuum, scrub repeatedly. I agree they're annoying but just a consequence of living here with this wonderful clinate. Personally I'll choose ants over UK any day!
