Yes we are very badly served in the Almeria region.

We have recently bought a property in san juan de los terreros. Last september we flew direct to almeria from our home city glasgow. Very cheap flight with thomas cook. After reserving our property we were gutted to learn that TC had pulled their direct flights for some reason. It had only been operational for a year. Now we can only fly from edinburgh in May onwards or glasgow prestwick/ murcia again in May. Our only option year round is Alicante a lot further away. We plan to rent our appartment so not ideal

You are the one of the main reasons l started this, l do realise Glasgow direct to Almeria could have been in your mind when you bought your home easy access for friends and family to rent your home all year round. The same for North West & North East UK owners please contact the Editor of Costa del Almeria News Jet2 EasyJet and place your comments. My personnel opinion after experiencing the added cost & time my own family has to endure just to visit us for a short break during the winter months. The cost and time has shown me how essential Almeria Airport is to our Region "SHOULD" be open all year, l do not want cheap flights during the winter just a good reliable service and l hope so do'es all the communities in the Almeria Region Spanish UK & German Swedish. I do hope l have made my position very clear to all who read this that this a Region Plea if you love and enjoy Almeria no matter where you are located please place your comments every little helps regards

New info, Ryanair will start Manchester into Almeria from june 3rd with BA doing Heathrow into Almeria from a date to be announced, presuming again that either or both are taking up ex Monarch slots.

Kinda watch this space.

Hi, the only thing with Ryan air if you only come with a small Cary on bag you are paying a fortune, with the extra charge, I hope they go bust it will serve them right

Cant really comment being inbetween Almeria and Murcia.

Ryanair stop flying into Almeria the end of October, not starting again before April, with the demise of Monarch our options to get to Huercal Overa region, Urcal, become Murcia and/or Alicante.

Cheaper to long term park at Alicante, Murcia is approx' 90 minutes from us, Alicante 2 hours, Manchester flights cover both airports.

Jet2 will be flying into Almeria thus year but not sure exactly when they'll begin nor end flights, hopefully earlier and later than Ryanair, and they will be using more regional airports too.

Jet 2 are starting there flights to Leeds and Bradford on May 8th from Almeria until end of Oct

Flights into Almeria are usually more expensive which I’ve been told is because the landing fees are higher. We always used Monarch from Gatwick. There have never been any flights from Manchester in the winter to Almeria; my brother who lives near Manchester and I came to visit a relative and we had to fly to Alicante to synchronise our journeys.  We are currently looking for a property in Spain and are purposely looking towards San Juan de los Terreros because it is nearer to Murcia and Alicante airports due to lack of flights into Almeria, we are not looking in that region.

I do hope these details will help you with your travel plans, you said the landing fees for Almeria are higher than other airports in Spain. I have researched your statement via The Spanish Airports web site for All Charges and Tolls each Airport are allowed to Charge. Almeria Charges are lower than Malaga and Alicante due to fact that Malaga & Alicante are classed as a High Usage Airport so the Fees Relate to the Airlines demand for Landing Slots and the Airport can Increase their charges, were as Almeria and all low usage airports can entice Airlines to use them with a lower Landing and Handling Charges and less staff to operate their Airport. The other statement you made that there have never been Direct Winter Fights ex Manchester to Almeria l can confirm via the Monarch Web Site Winter Routes Page, up till October 2017 Monarch had 2 Flights per week since October 2000, l can confirm this as my wife and I have been using this route since our family made the permanent move here in 2003, in fact our return to UK in April 2017 was with Monarch and our October return fight was with Monarch on The Winter Schedule sadly they collapsed. We do hope this will help you with your future plans, l do hope you have read the "Letters Page in this weeks Costa Del Almeria News Paper" the Editor has placed 4 letters from families experiencing problems this winter bye for now regards Roy 71
