Hello everyone

I'm trying to find a 12 month rental contract to support a residency application but so far most  seem to only offer 11 month contracts.  Has anyone successfully used this temporary 11 month contract to full fill a residency application requirement?  I don't feel confident that it demonstrates I am making my permanent home in Spain and don't want to mess up my application so close to the end of the transition period.

Many thanks for any advice

Claire

6 month contract or more will get you Residencia.  Almería doesn’t ask for the rental contract, only the Certificado de Empadronamiento.  Ayuntamientos will normally give a Padrón for a 6 month rental contract

Thank you Dario that is encouraging and opens up my options.

Hi Skiami

We have a 11 month rental agreement. It's perfectly valid to use in order to obtain padron. Once you have padron that is all that you require to obtain a TIE (formerly residency). This what we did in 2018.

Good luck

Chris

Hi

We literally arrived in Saturday and have a 7 month rental contract and have appointments for Padron on 13th November, I’m hoping this will suffice as resident?! We have insurance arranaged already and 3 months bank statements 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hope it works for you and of course us!

Take care

Gail

Almería don’t ask for the rental contract, just the Padrón and the Padrón does not say anywhere on it how long a rental contract is for - it merely certifies you are living at “x” address.  If you have a Certificado de Empadronamiento, then that’s all you need for Residencia

The rental contract is needed for obtaining the padron certificate. Once you have that the next step is getting your residence/TIE appointment in Almeria City. It is advisable to have assistance from a local gestor, regarding marriage/birth certificates, court approved translations, P60s, health insurance etc.

Good luck!

Chris

as people have stated the padron is what is requited. when we asked our town hall what length was required they said it did not matter as long as we had the necessary paperwork. or information ours was 6 months.
